The Sacramento Nomad Golf Club was founded in 1983. We joined the Northern California Golf Association (NCGA) as an associate club member in November of 1983. The Associate Club classification is offered by the NCGA to golf organizations that are not associated with a golf course facility. Our membership in the NCGA affords us the opportunity to enjoy the services and benefits offered by the NCGA to its members. The Sacramento Nomad Golf Club has been in good standing with the NCGA since first joining.
The Club has been providing its members a wide variety of courses to play in the California/Nevada area. As our name-sake implies, we have no home course affiliation, so we travel, Nomad Style, to 12 different locations a year, playing 1 tournament per month. Home is where the pars are...
Our calendar year runs from November to October. We play at least three (3) two-day (Sat & Sun) events. Typically, we play a two-day tournament in Monterey, in the Plumas Pines/Graeagle Meadows area, and our Club Championship, for-which we rotate sites between Nevada and California.
With 80 plus members, we all come from different backgrounds, have different careers, and lead different lives. But, we all have one common love and interest; the game of golf. We enjoy getting together with good friends on the course. After a Nomad tournament you can usually visit the 19th hole and trade stories about the 3 eagle putts you had lip out that day.
Our year end gathering is a general meeting open to all current members. We discuss next years calendar, vote on any club business, open the floor to any suggestions or ideas, and award our Gross and Net Club Champions. The night is capped off by raffling off great prizes. For each tournament a member plays, he receive 1 entry into the year end raffle.
